What to expect, hour by hour.
- 6:00 PM

Food trucks, vendors, live music, and family activities open along South Front Street.
- 6:30 PM

Fernandina's pirates make their way through the celebration — bring the kids.
- 8:30 PM
Warm-up music & sunset
Stake out a spot along the riverfront. The Amelia River sunset is the warm-up act.
- 9:00 PM
Fireworks over the river
About 20 minutes of choreographed pyrotechnics launched from a barge on the Amelia River.
A few hometown tips to make the night smoother.
Where to watch
South Front Street at the City's new Waterfront Park and the Fernandina Harbor Marina have the best sightlines. Central Park and the Amelia Island Trail along the river are quieter alternatives.
Parking
Downtown lots fill up by 6:00 PM. Arrive early or park in the residential streets a few blocks south and walk in. Bicycles welcome.
Food & drink
Local food trucks line the celebration zone — past favorites include VooDoo Shrimp Shack, Philly Boyz Cheesesteaks, and Ms. Chunky's Pies-N-Gumbo.
Bring
Blankets, low chairs, water, sunscreen for the evening sun, and bug spray once the sun goes down. The marsh mosquitoes are punctual.
Pets
Please leave dogs at home. The fireworks are loud and the crowd is large — both are hard on pets.
If it storms
We launch rain or shine, but lightning will delay the show. Watch our social media for live updates if weather turns.

See you on the river.
Bring your family. Bring your neighbors. Bring whoever needs a reminder that this town still knows how to throw a Fourth of July.
